Quick Tips To Get Lots Of Links Fast!
Asking for links is pretty easy. Getting people to link to you without asking would be even easier. There are ways to do it. One very successful method is to offer a freebie. Give away something for free on the Internet and word is going to get around very, very fast. You could write a short e-book, put together a little program or create a cool screensaver. Let people download what you’ve created for free and tell your audience. You should find that related sites start linking to you very quickly indeed. Why shouldn’t they?... they’re helping their users get something of value for nothing.
But it has to be something of value. If you give away some piece of garbage that does nothing but take up space on someone’s hard drive, the only attention you’re going to get is notices telling people not to go to your site. If you want to offer a short book — a guide to digital cameras for example, or reviews of different types of coffee makers — and you don’t have the time, the talent or the inclination to write it yourself, ask someone else to do it for you. You can find plenty of freelance writers (as well as coders) at Elance.com who will be happy to lend a hand for a reasonable fee. Sure, it will costyou a few bucks but how much would you be willing to pay for a couple of hundred links to your site? Just ask yourself what information you have on your website that you can easily put together or expand upon and turn into an ebook. What tool would you like to have that would help a user of your site? Give people what they want for nothing and you’ll soon have lots of links sending people your way.
Another strategy is to be controversial. This is easiest to do on blogs but you can also do it if your website has product reviews or news or articles. Say something that goes against the flow, that causes outrage, or better yet, something that everyone thinks but no one dares to say.
I’m not going to give you examples of that; you can probably think of enough of your own. Sure, you’re going to make enemies. But you’ll also be amazed at how many new friends you’ll make — and most importantly, how much discussion you’ll create. Alternatively, you can be creative. Most websites these days look pretty much the same. Do something unique and lots of people will come to take a look — and lots of sites will send them to you.
Sound difficult? These days, it really isn’t. It’s a breeze to upload a short video to your website and if the clip on there is amusing enough, you’ll get page views. Family bloopers are always good, your own footage of a Nascar race could work, a video tutorial that showed people how to operate the new Nikon camera or battle scenes of some video game could work too. Create the sort of content that builds a buzz and you’ll get the links that send you up the rankings.
