Online Business Website

When you've got a web based business you hear all of this some time and they are right, why? Since your competition is executing it and you've got to out do your competitors to make a chance earning money online. So what is it? It's a part of SEO (Search Engine Optimization), which works toward getting your site together with the various search engines organically (without directly paying for it). The idea is if you're able to get other sites to reference yours, search engines like google will see it and rank your site higher than one which has fewer references.

It gets additional complicated then that when you realize hundreds of programmers at Google etc. aren't hanging out doing nothing all day, they're actively tweaking their algorithms. But it makes sense that the higher the ranking (bigger, more popular) of the sites that reference your site, the higher quality it will be to your site. If these websites are about the same subject (or close) to yours all of the better. So the game plan involves getting all the highest-ranking preferably relevant sites you will get to reference (back link) yours.

Next step, how do I do it? Here are the big ones:

   1. Publishing your site to Internet directories (Google it to find them). These are like Internet phone books. Simply fill out the form, which includes your URL (Uniform Resource Locator, the link to your site!)
   2. Content websites. (Contact the owner of other sites with similar content)
   3. Inserting signature links within forums. Most forums make you join to comment. It's good if they allow you to put your URL in the "signature" or some other area. This way you get a back link whenever you make a comment. A couple of points, don't post junk it will just get deleted plus you want to build a good reputation. Learn the HTML version (complete with "anchor text") for your link. You guessed it Google it. Post it in any profile text areas that allow it. There are many services that will find high-ranking forums for you to join etc. They're cheap enough (as little as $5 per month) but be aware, there is a lot of work here, I find it very time consuming. But as usual you have time or money not usually both so you can decide if you want to pay to have it done for you.
   4. Leaving comments on blogs. Much the same as forums.
   5. Reciprocal website link exchange. This is exchanging links with other sites. Reciprocal links are good but not as good as one way links. So in nutshell if you want a successful online business, get loads of back links and use search engine submissions, your competition is.
